Hailing from Georgia, Jaten Dimsdale, otherwise known as Teddy Swims, is the grandson of a pastor. He dipped his toes in American football and musical theater. His diverse background meant that the “Lose Control” hitmaker was as used to singing country and rock as he was to grooving to soul and funk, paving the way for a distinctive style that can’t be defined by only one genre.
Teddy Swims started sharing his work on the web in 2019, and he unsurprisingly went viral. This led to a deal with Warner Records and the opportunity to pen his own original songs in 2020. One year later, the visionary created more than 300 songs, earning him Rolling Stone’s Artist to Watch award. 2023 saw Teddy Swims drop his debut album, I've Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1), which stood tall as one of the UK’s most listened-to albums. The record saw Teddy Swims work out some personal, real issues through his stunning music. “Now I’m watching people connect with the messages and stories and realizing not only are the songs helping me, but they’re also helping them too,” he says. “It feels like all that work on the back end, all that internalizing, is finally making a difference.” Teddy Swims continues, "My debut album is an honest look into my mental health journey. This album is my first step towards being vulnerable about this journey and the steps I need to take to heal." And now, Teddy Swims plans to take the power of healing one step further and invites fans to join him on his life-changing journey!
Teddy Swims’ North American trek comes in celebration of his sophomore album, ‘I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2)’. As the title hints, the upcoming album is the second edition of his breakthrough debut record, which landed last September and featured huge hits, such as “Lose Control” and “The Door”. Set for release on January 24, Teddy Swims will bring his latest music to life with 42 new shows across the continent, kicking off in Hollywood, Florida on May 5, and making its way to the iconic 713 Music Hall in Houston, Texas on August 9.
